CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
CASP-I’s 6th conference will bring together policy makers, university faculty, practitioners, leaders of non-profit organizations, representatives of the media, and parents to advance the discipline, profession and services of school psychology to promote the well-being of students and their families.
Deadline for Submissions is June 1st, 2018
Please carefully read the instructions below before submitting a conference proposal. All Conference proposals must be submitted by email attachment to: Michael Hass, Ph.D., Chair of Scientific Committee at mhass@chapman.edu
Instructions for submitting a proposal:
PAPERS AND POSTERS PRESENTATIONS:
Presenters of papers and poster presentations are required to submit a proposal with the following pages to the Scientific Committee:
a. A cover page with the title, objectives, strand and topic of the presentation, a list of presenter(s) with the primary presenter listed first, their addresses and email addresses, and their affiliation(s). Failure to include all presenters’ contact information will result in the proposal being sent back to the lead presenter for clarification.

- On the 2nd page, an abstract with a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 250 words, confined within a single paragraph
- Starting on the 3rd page, the paper for the proceedings if applicable.
1. Papers Presentations: Papers will be 50 minutes and will present research, theoretical case study, or professional practice. Each paper presentation may have a maximum of four (4) presenters. If you would like your paper published in the conference proceedings, include a paper of 10 to 12 pages with references. Use APA 6th edition as a guide for all formatting. If you do not choose to have your paper published in the proceeding, only the title, abstract and presenter names will be included in the proceedings.
2. Posters: Poster authors communicate and exchange ideas, research, and projects to conference attendees using pictures, data, graphs, diagrams and narrative text on tri-fold boards that are approximately 36” x 48” inches. Each poster may have a maximum of four (4) authors. Authors are required to present their posters with attendees and answer their questions during scheduled times at the conference.

Strand A: Cognitive and academic domains
· School, family, and community programs and activities that promote academic success.
· Support for children with intellectual and learning disabilities in schools, homes, and communities.
· The role of teachers and parents in promoting higher order thinking skills (HOTS) for children.
· Identification of and support for gifted, talented, and high achieving students.
Strand B: Behavior and Social domains
- Crisis intervention, including threat of self-harm or school violence.
- Fostering resilient children in school, home, and communities.
- How families and communities can effectively respond to juvenile delinquency.
- Life skills that guarantee future success for children.
- Identification and support students with social and behavioral challenges
Strand C: Affective and mental health and domains
- Universal mental health promotion in communities and schools.
- Emotional self-regulation for students with stress, anxiety, and depression.
- Early assessment, identification, and treatment of mental health challenges.
Strand D: Special education and developmental disabilities
- Early identification, interventions and special education services for children with developmental disorders (intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, autism, etc.) in school and home.
- Inclusion and inclusive education for students with developmental disabilities.
- Post-graduation transition programs for students with disabilities.
- Parents as advocates for children with disabilities.
Strand E: Vocational guidance in school counseling
· Vocational counseling and consultation.
· Career screening, evaluation, exploration, and other vocational guidance for high school students.
· Roles of families in vocational guidance for their children.
· Vocational skill training and activities for students.
